The Curtiss N2C-2 "Fledgling" was the winner of a 1928 Navy design competition for a new primary training plane. When the N2Cs rolled off the assembly line, they appeared more reminiscent of a World War I aircraft than a new top-of-the-line trainer. The N2C has a crew of two, for a pilot and an instructor. It has a maximum speed of 109 mph and a range of 366 miles. It incorporates a Wright R-760-8. There's a total of 31 N2C1s built.
