C-9A Nightingales were assigned to the 374th Airlift Wing at Yokota Air Base, Japan, for use in the Pacific Theater. C-9As were also assigned to the 435th Airlift Wing at Rhein-Main Air Base, Germany, for use in the European and Middle East theaters. The C-9A has a crew of 5 to 8. It has a range of 2,600 nm. It incorporates two Pratt & whitney JT8D-9A turbofans.
